John Edwards ONZM, BDS, FDSRCS, FRACDS
John has been teaching and practising in special areas of dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgery since graduating in 1963. He returned to a teaching and clinical position at the University of Otago and Dunedin Hospital in 1969 after 4 years of post graduate training in England.
After setting up the national training programme in oral and maxillofacial surgery and being appointed Associate Professor, he moved to Auckland in 1987 to a part-time consultant position at Auckland Hospital and part-time specialist practice.
He retired from his hospital position in February 2007 but has continued in specialist private practice. The following year he became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to dentistry. At present, he is also actively involved in building and commissioning a large private hospital in South Auckland.
John practises the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery but has a special interest in orthognathic surgery, jaw joint surgery, and dental implants.
He consults at Quay Park Health in the City.
John is married with 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Apart from his family his great love is his Waiheke Island property where he grows and produces olive oil.
Chris Sealey BDS, MB ChB, FDSRCPS, FRACDS (OMS)
Chris completed his dental degree (BDS) at Otago in 1982. He worked as a dental house surgeon and junior lecturer before heading to the UK in 1985 to pursue training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He completed the dental fellowship (FDSRCPS) in Glasgow in 1988 before returning to Otago to study medicine. He gained his medical degree (MB ChB) in 1991.
Chris then spent three years at Tauranga hospital and sought experience in general surgery before moving to Adelaide, South Australia, for three years, to complete his advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He gained his Australasian Fellowship (FRACDS in oral and maxillofacial surgery) in 1998.
Chris has been involved in private and public oral and maxillofacial surgery practice in Auckland since 1998. He is a consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Auckland City and Middlemore Hospitals and is the Auckland supervisor of training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. His areas of special interest include teaching, dental implant surgery, management of benign pathology of the jaws, jaw-joint surgery and management of facial trauma.
Chris consults at Quay Park Health in the City, Manukau Superclinic and Ormiston Hospital at Botany Junction.
John Harrison BDS, MDS (OMFS), MB ChB, FRACDS (OMS)
John completed his dental degree (BDS) in Otago in 1992.
He then held dental house surgeon and registrar positions in Wellington for 3 years before travelling to the UK to further his professional experience.
John returned to Dunedin in 1997 to commence his postgraduate training in oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMS). He moved to Christchurch the following year and completed his medical degree (MB ChB) and masters degree (MDS) in oral and maxillofacial surgery, with distinction in 2001.
In 2002 John worked at Tauranga Hospital before moving to Auckland to complete his specialist training. He gained his Australasian Fellowship (FRACDS) in Melbourne in 2004 and returned there the following year as an OMS fellow. John then returned to Auckland in 2006 to join the team at Auckland OMS Group and take up a consultant OMS position at Auckland City and Middlemore Hospitals.
John practices the full scope of OMS. He has a special interest in orthognathic surgery, the management of facial trauma, dental implant surgery, and the treatment of benign pathology of the mouth and jaws.
He consults at Quay Park Health in the City, Ormiston Hospital at Botany Junction, Rata Street in New Lynn, and Corinthian Drive in Albany.
John is married with three young children.
Cameron Lewis BSC, BDS, MDS (OMFS), MB ChB, FRACDS (OMS)
Cameron completed his dental degree (BDS) from Otago in 1991. Following this he worked in both hospital and private general practice for several years.
He later returned to Otago to commence specialist training in oral and maxillofacial surgery, gaining his medical degree (MB ChB) and masters degree (MDS) in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2005. The following year Cameron worked as a general medical house surgeon at Auckland Hospital and completed his training in the Specialty working for several years as a senior registrar at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland.
He gained his Australasian Fellowship (FRACDS) in Brisbane in 2008.
Cameron practices the entire scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery however his special interests include the management of orbital and midface trauma, orthognathic surgery and bone augmentation for dental implants.
He currently holds a consultant post in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Middlemore Hospital and consults privately at Quay Park Health in the City.
Cameron is married to Tracy and they have three children: Ben, Hannah and Sam.
